Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 August 2026
BoardAlgo ("we", "us", "our") is a Bengaluru, India-based company operating the BoardAlgo platform (the "Service") for CBSE Class 10 & 12 students. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, and class (10/12) provided at signup, plus authentication details if you sign in with Google.
- Content you submit: questions, photos of handwritten answers, and responses you submit to Solution Finder, the Strict Examiner, Practice Sets, and Mnemonics, so we can generate solutions, grades, and study aids.
- Usage & device data: pages visited, features used, session timestamps, approximate location (derived from IP), browser/device type, and interaction analytics used to improve the product and detect abuse.
- Payment data: we use a third-party payment gateway to process purchases. We store transaction and subscription records (amount, plan, status), but we do not store your full card or UPI credentials on our servers.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, personalise, and improve the Service — including AI-generated solutions, grading, concept predictions, and progress reports.
- To operate account, billing, and support functions.
- To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- To send transactional emails (receipts, account notices) and, where permitted, product updates.
- To generate aggregated, de-identified analytics — for example, trend data used to power the Concept Predictor — which does not identify you individually.
3. AI processing of your content
Questions, answers, and photos you submit are processed by AI models (our own and third-party model providers we contract with) to generate solutions, grades, mnemonics, and insights. We take reasonable technical and contractual measures to restrict how third-party processors may use this content, and we do not sell your submitted content.
4. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, email delivery, payment processing, AI model providers), bound by confidentiality and data-processing terms.
- Your school or institute administrator, only if you access BoardAlgo through an institute/B2B account that grants that visibility.
- Law enforcement or regulators, where required by applicable Indian law.
5. Data retention
We retain account and practice-history data for as long as your account is active, so your Practice History and Progress Reports remain permanently accessible to you as described on the platform. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us, subject to records we're legally required to retain (e.g. payment records).
6. Your choices
- You can access, update, or correct your profile information from your account settings.
- You can request export or deletion of your personal data by writing to us.
- You can opt out of non-essential marketing emails at any time.
7. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures — including encrypted connections, access controls, and rate-limiting/abuse detection — to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.
8. Children's use
BoardAlgo is designed for CBSE Class 10 & 12 students, many of whom are minors. Where required, account creation and use should be supervised or consented to by a parent or guardian, consistent with applicable Indian law.
9. Payments & refunds
We are a Bengaluru-based company. No refunds will be provided on any purchase. See our Terms of Service for the full payment policy.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
